Frequently Asked Questions

Security wiring may seem like a strange, outdated concept, but it can be more beneficial than you might think. Benefits of security wiring include:

  • It provides a reliable and consistent connection that doesn’t rely on radio frequencies or sensors to function properly. Being wired directly into the house allows for fewer false alarms and failures. They also reduce the risk of external interference.
  • It also has a far simpler setup and maintenance compared to wireless security. There is no need for battery replacements or much of any work after the system is installed. And it is quite simple to change wired security systems when moving houses by simply contacting the security company.

Wired security systems can cover large spaces, even spanning multiple buildings. Continuous wiring allows for signals to cross large spaces uninterrupted. They also allow for control panels and more sensors than typical wireless systems would be able to support. This provides more complete security for large spaces.

It is far more difficult for someone to tamper with a wired security system that they would need physical access to. Tampering with a wired security system requires much more skill and time than tampering with a wireless security system. This makes it less likely that someone would even attempt to tamper with a wired security system.
